Bob was a member of my genealogy site, www.dwaynemeisner.com - He was always the first one to point out a mistake in a transcription, or any other problem with the site. I actually implemented many of his suggestions. Although I never knew him personally, I knew he was a passionate researcher when it came to genealogy. I have roots in Lunenburg County as well, so we shared a similar passion. We had many heated discussions via email, and via the mailing lists over the years. I humbly offer my condolences to his family, and the people who knew him the best. - Dwayne

Ken and I wish to extend our sympathies to the Gillis family at this time. Bob was an avid sailor at Deer Lake, and Ken enjoyed sailing with him through the years.

I did not know Kathy's dad personally but he must have been a wonderful father because I know that Kathy is very close to her siblings and is a loving and devoted mother which means she must have had a loving father to nurture her and love her. I wish Kathy and her mom and siblings the best during this difficult time.
