Dad, there is a reason you left, someone needed you. If you can make a difference up there and still keep an eye on us, I can accept that. The last year we spent together brought us closer, planting your deck garden, bird watching, watching old 40's 50's movies and just idle chit chat about our past. You did so well getting back into wood cutting and we got most of the baskets made. They came out beautiful. Thanks for all the great memories this past year Dad, I will cherish them all. We miss you. <3

Barbara and Als love and devotion to one another is truly an inspiration we can all learn from. A wonderfully kind man who was also a loving brother in law and uncle to our family. How lucky our now grown sons were to grow up living down the road from him all their lives. He influenced them in so many wonderful ways. Thank you Al for sharing your life with all of us. We will miss you but never forget you. And Barbara as I've already told you. He didn't leave you, he's just waiting for you. Love you B.

We lived next door to Al and Barb as we raised our sons on Cedar Lake. They were the world's best neighbors. Al always had time for our boys, sharing his enthusiasm and knowledge of birds, gardening and life with them. He also shared the bounty of his garden with us all.
In reality, his family, friends and community was the garden that Al nurtured and took care of. We were so fortunate to be part of Al's life, and his garden.
He enriched us all.
Rest in Peace Al, and we'he's reunited with Buddy now, and that's a happy thought

My sincere sympathy to Barbara and family. I enjoyed working on so many projects with Al over the years, he taught me so much about keeping the gardens beautiful. We worked together at the Kiwani's Circus every year. He was always ready to teach me the "ropes" on so many wonderful works undertaken by our super members of the Denville Kiwani's. Denville has lost another super volunteer, not to mention a craftsman painter a lot in my home which still looks great. God speed Al.
