Paul W. Schaefer, 85, died on Monday July 7, 2014 at Care One at Parsippany, NJ.
Paul was born in Hamburg, Germany and moved to the US in 1947 settling in New York City. After returning from military service he settled in Caldwell and later Lake Hiawatha before moving to Denville in 1968.
Paul served in the US Army during the Korean war serving in West Germany.
He worked as a tool and die maker for O.C. Rudolph, Inc in Fairfield, NJ later becoming a commercial bus driver first for Greyhound Bus Lines in New York and later for Lakeland Bus Co. of Dover.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Liese Reisel Schaefer as well as his daughter Joan and her husband John Miseo of Kenvil and son Paul and his wife Danielle Schaefer of Nutley, NJ. He is also survived by his four grandchildren; John Miseo, Jennifer Miseo, Paul “Will” Schaefer and Edward Schaefer.
Funeral services will be held on Friday July 11, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ www.normandean.com.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 6 to 9 PM.
