I delivered Mr. Schaefer's mail for about 5 years many years ago. I seriously couldn't get enough of his old-timer stories and helpful wisdom. He was never afraid to look me in the eye and tell me the way it is. Wonderful, pleasant, SMART, man. Will miss him very much.

So many, but most memorable was that cherry tree in his back yard. Rest in peace my friend.

Grandpa - I will never forget your fascinating stories and wise words you would always share with my brother and I. You were an amazing person inside and out. God gave you such an amazing heart that anyone you spoke to could feel. Love and miss you.

I got to meet Mr. Schaefer while visiting my own mom at Care One -- I would take a few moments out of my time with her to speak to him in German -- I truly believe he loved listening to me speak to him. He also loved seeing my Pug Frank as well. May he Rest In Peace.
