The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Anthony Amato Freda, Jr. our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Anthony. And to Anthony it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedoms during several deployments with the U.S. Army. Anthony, you are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

I met Tony through Sgt.Flynn as he started his new career in nuclear QA. Worked few outages with Tony and became friends. "Always willing to put himself out to help others." God Bless and Rest in Peace.

you found a place in my heart over 23 years ago and you have never left it. I was looking forward to a new adventure in our lives, but now I have to travel it without you...I will do my best. I had the pleasure of serving with Tony in Afghanistan in 2006. He was a dear friend and extraordinary soldier and person. All that know him need to know how well respected and admired Tony was. He constantly worked at improving the lives of our soldiers. He begged, borrowed and stole to improve our Internet connections, get us a pool table and many other creature comforts. We never had to ask him. He always put his subordinates first. I loved and trusted him like a brother. Heaven will now be a fun place now that Tony has entered Heavens Gates.
