Obituary of Richard F. Gehring

Richard “Rich” “Goldie” Gehring, 72, died on Sunday March 30, 2014 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ after a short illness.
Rich was born and raised in Nutley, New Jersey and moved to the Rainbow Lakes section of Parsippany in 1964.
He had served in the US Army during Vietnam After the war he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway for 35 years retiring in 1998.
He could never stop and sit, he always wanted to help anyone. He could do almost anything and if someone needed to have something done he would do it and do it happy.
He married the love of his life H. Elizabeth Bell also known as Liz on August 28, 1965 in a Methodist Church in West Hyattsville, Maryland.
He is survived by his wife Liz and his children Richard and his wife Terri of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, Tabitha of Independence, Kentucky and Eric and his wife Angela of Rockaway Twp., NJ.
He is also survived by his seven grandchildren Wyatt Gehring, Victoria Gehring, Alisia Munoz, Jose Munoz, Chelsea Gehring, Andrew Gehring and Courtney Gehring. He is also survived by his sisters Hazel Cutler of St. Petersburg, Fla., Lorraine Jackson of Easton, PA and Dolores Barrera of Jersey City, NJ.
Rich was predeceased by his daughter Judith Marie Gehring as well as his parents Anthony and Loretta Gehring and his brothers Anthony Jr., John and Robert, and his sister Barbara Giarrizzo.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday Apr. 3, 2014 at 9:30 AM at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ www.normandean.com. Please share a memory of Rich by lighting a candle on our web site.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
