George F. Weingartner, 87 passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Saint Clare's Hospital, Denville, NJ.
George was born in Newark, NJ and was a longtime resident of Scotch Plains. He was employed as an engineer for New Jersey Bell Telephone, retiring in 1985 after 38 years of service. After his retirement he moved to Anna Maria, Florida and recently returned to New Jersey to make his residence at the Franciscan Oaks. George served in the Army during WW ll. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed golfing and fishing.
George is survived by the love of his life, Eva, his wife of 61 years, his loving children, George and his wife Adrienne, Diane Mormando and her husband John, Wendy McDermott and her husband Patrick, Cheryl DiMarco and her husband Antonio, Michael and his wife Allison, and 12 cherished grandchildren, Alexandra, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Patrick, Wendy, Shannon, Amanda, Julianna, Austin, Marcella, Michael and Rebecca.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial service on Friday, January 24th at 9:30am at the St. Francis Chapel, 9 Pocono Road, Denville ,NJ 07834.
