Robert Halm, 53, died on Wednesday January 1, 2014 of an apparent heart attack while playing hockey on Indian Lake, in Denville, NJ. He was born in Hackensack but grew up in Denville. Following college he lived in Lake Mohawk and Jefferson before moving back to Denville 16 years ago and settled on Lenape Island in Indian Lake. He graduated from Morris Knolls High School and went on to Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, and graduated with a Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering. He has worked for Fujitec of America in Clifton for the last 27 years where he is a Senior Electrical Engineer. Bob has been active with the Indian Lake Community Club as well as the Denville Hockey Program where he had served on the board and coached. He had also coached with the New Jersey Freeze Hockey Team. He is survived by his wife Ellen Jablon Halm who he married on June 11, 1988 at St. John’s the Apostle RC Church in Clark, NJ as well as his children Jaclyn and Timothy Hilty and their son Samuel Robert Hilty of Randolph, Nicole Halm, Brian Halm, Shannon Halm and Daniel Halm and his parents Barry and Nancy Halm all of Denville, NJ. He is also survived by his brothers and their wives Steven and Theresa Halm of Dahlonega, GA. and William and Kathy Halm of Stanhope, NJ. Funeral from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at 9:00 AM for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church Denville, NJ.
