Obituary of Helen F. Moran

Helen Moran, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Compassionate Care Hospice. She was 96 years young. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 21st at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, Myers Ave, Denville. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 20th from 4-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Born in the Bronx, Helen moved to Rockaway with her family many years ago. In 1980, she settled in Denville, where she enjoyed staying active. Not one to sit still, she was always tending to her house, yard and donating her time to those around her. A product of the great depression and an admirable generation, Helen knew the value of a dollar and hard work. She was a loving wife, an extraordinary Mom and a dear friend. She will be missed by many, including the clergy and hospital staff who endearingly referred to her as the “candy lady”. Predeceased by her husband Edwin (1978) and all of her siblings; she is survived by her son Thomas; grandchildren Deborah and Michael, two great grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
