Obituary of Peter Lodato

Peter V. Lodato, of Denville, NJ, died peacefully at Care One at Morris on Friday, April 29, 2011. He was 88 years old.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Florence E. Lodato (nee Armstrong), of 60 years. He is also survived by his loving children: Nancy Balogh of Mount Arlington, NJ, Peter Lodato and his wife Ellen of Rockaway, NJ, and Dr. Robert Lodato of Charleston, Maine. He was a cherished grandfather to 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear sister, Claire Doherty and her husband James of Hallendale Beach, Florida, his dear cousin and best friend, Dr. Eugene Perticone of Oswego, NY, and many nieces and nephews.
Peter was born in the Bronx on December 20, 1922 and was raised in Bronxville, NY and Westwood, NJ. He was a proud veteran of WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart while serving in the Army AirForce from 1943-1945.
Peter was employed at Bell Laboratories in Whippany, NJ for 40 years and was a volunteer at Saint Clare's Hospital in his later years. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and an avid amateur photographer among other hobbies. He will be missed.
