Obituary of Mary C. Swanson

Mary C. Swanson, 85, died on Sunday January 9, 2011, at her home in Denville, NJ.
She was born and raised in New Haven, CT, and lived in Cheshire, CT before moving to Denville, NJ in 1967.
Mary taught fourth and fifth grade at Lakeview School in Denville for eighteen years, where she touched the lives of hundreds of students. An active member of NJEA, she served as part of Denville's contract negotiation team for several years. After retiring in 1986, she enjoyed her favorite hobbies of travel and reading. She often volunteered at the Denville Friends of the Library used book sales, and in recent years, donated a portion of her personal library to their fund raising efforts.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years Donald A. Swanson, her daughter Dr. Karen Swanson of Cedar Knolls, NJ, and her sister Margaret Anne Collins of Hamden, CT.
