Obituary of Joseph Raymond McClain

Joseph Raymond McClain passed away at Merry Heart Nursing Home in Boonton Twp., NJ on December 1, 2010. He was 80 years old. Born and raised in New York City, he had lived in West Hempstead, L.I., NY until 1964 when he moved to the Indian Lake section of Denville, NJ. Joseph served in US Army Rangers during the Korean War and worked as a crane operator for Union Local #14 in New York City for 40 years before retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Indian Lake Community Club, the Denville V.F.W. Post #2519, and he was a coach for Denville Little League. He is predeceased by his brothers and sister Sonny, Rene, Jim and John, and also by his brother in-law Tom O'Grady. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Eileen M. (O'Grady) McClain. He is also survived by his loving children Kevin, Michael, Brian, Tim, Daniel, and Nancy McClain and families. He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and his siblings Edward (& Eileen) McClain of Florida, and Evelyn (& Jim) Brawley of Westwood, NJ, and his brother in-law Leo (& Kathleen) O'Grady and sister in-law Alice O'Grady. Funeral from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 will be held on Monday December 6, 2010 at 9AM followed by a 10AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass at St. Mary's Church in Denville. Interment will follow at Denville Cemetery. Friends may visit on Sunday December 5 from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Please light a candle in his memory at: www.normandean.com.
