So I was at my grandfathers funeral, and was thinking how I won't get to see any of my family for christmas, never mind the 25th, mine was today. I got to see my whole family, and even though it was a sad occasion, it really brought a smile to my face, and I know that's what grandpa would have wanted. That's all the presents I need, I will never forget you, and always love you grandpa!

Dear Family,
I started to write this last night but I got too choked up. All of my aunts and uncles are really special to me. My uncles in particular because I lost my Dad when I was so young. I guess in my mind my Dad went on because his brothers and his best friend were still here. The happiest summer of my life was when I got to spend a week a piece at Uncle Ed's house, Uncle Joe's house, and Uncle Jim and Aunt Ev's house. I never saw Uncle Joe get mad. The only time he corrected me about anything was when he asked me, 'What's with the butt on the seat?" when I chose to sit back while everyone else was kneeling at church. He always had a big smile on his face and he always seemed really happy to see you. He spoke in a really loving and encouraging way when he talked to his kids. Whenever I saw him at family picnics he always seemed to be telling a joke and laughing. He was a great guy and I will miss seeing his smile.

Dear All--I was so very sorry to hear the news and couldn't help but smile when I saw this picture...it really is him! Your Dad(and husband)was an honest, caring, and loving man. I have great memories of sitting around your kitchen table enjoying his company for many meals. I know you will miss him dearly. Please know that I am thinking of all of you and wished I could get down to see all of you. Much love~Jake

As my sister said, "nothing but fond memories of you." Being next door neighbors it was almost a Saturday ritual to step outside our front door to see Mr. McClain tinkering with one of his beloved VW's. At which point I would say, "good morning Mr. McClain." and he would respond with "Weber you're a bum" followed by that great smile and a laugh. Cleary this ability of good natured ribbing was passed along all six of his children. One of my fondest memories is going to work with him one day to climb up into a crane and drive a huge tractor...a pretty cool thing for a 12 year old!
Nothing but great memories of growing up in Denville and having the McClains for neighbors. Thank you Mr. McClain...rest in peace.

Uncle Joe is in peace now. I continue my prayers for you that mourn. I pray for peace in your heart. Peace be with you Aunt Eileen, Kevin, Michael, Tim, Danny and Nancy, and extended family members. I hear you loved him up with all that you had. He was blessed by you. We are blessed over and over again by him. A strange thing about death somehow, it isn't the end. God continues using Uncle Joe's soul, and others we've said good bye to. Somehow we grow and learn more from that beautiful life we've been priveliged to love. I pray you find your continued blessings, I know Uncle Joe is not done yet. Find his life and ways in eachother. Celebrate and honor the life of a really sweet good man. I love you Uncle Joe very much. You made me feel special in your way by teasing me the way you did. You always did it with your smile. This is a good picture of you. You are in my heart and you won't go away. I miss you.
Rest in Peace Dear Uncle. XO I'm so sorry I can not be at the services, forgive me. Know that I am honoring Uncle Joe here in NC. I hate that I'm not with you, in spirit I am. May God be with you, and grant you peace in His love by those that surround you. Uncle Joe would say again, "Is she done yet?"

Mrs McClain Kevin Michael Brian Tim Dan and Nancy,
You have chosen a great picture to post of Mr MAC. This is exactly how I will remember him smiling;with pride at Sports venues or school fuctions or simply in and around town. He was so proud of all of his children and all of your varied and abundant accomplishments. I am sure he was exactly the same with the grand children. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers over the coming weeks as this a particularly bad time of year to lose someone so dear. I am sure though that Mr MAC is sitting today in heaven smiling down and gladly awaiting the "celebration of Life" that I am sure you will all deliver over the coming days. The Denville Mansion in Heaven is getting pretty crowded but I am sure there is some grand laughs and jokes being shared among all Rest Well Mr MAC.
