Some of my most precious memories are playing at the Little Brown Jug. Your face and smile are woven throughout those images and sounds, Ed, and I know they won't fade. Thanks for your kindness and your friendship. See you again, some day. May God bless you, and all of your family.

I first had the honor of meeting Ed and Pat (Mom) at their kitchen table while waiting for their son Tom to quick grab something before we were off on a date. They both greeted me with kindness which has never left. As time went on, Ed humbly became my Godfather and soon after my Father-in-Law. Looking back over the past 30 years, Ed was constantly moving; he worked in the Pharmacy and then stepped into the Liquor store and soon after the restaurant to help customers. He always had a pleasant smile and a desire to help his fellow man. If he sat, his mind was busy. His desire to challenge himself opened many business opportunities and he met them with success. He even tried his hand at crocheting and we have a blanket that he made. When he was dealt a debilitating blow with his heath, he became an inspiration to me. Ed had to re-learn what many take for granted and he bounced back with the driving motivation to be able to walk his daughters down the isle on their wedding day, a feat he achieved gracefully. Ed encouraged education to all his family and to his credit, we listened; both Ed and Mom are remembered in my doctoral dedication for their inspiration. Ed loved life and all it had to give. He loved his growing family, grandchildren even if they were furry and created many pleasant and humorous memories with friends. Through the years, I never heard Ed say “I can’t”, he looked at life with the attitude of “why not?” The void he leaves on this Earth is one of sorrow, we know the man we lost, however the Angels in Heaven rejoice for they know the Brother they gain. May Ed be greeted in Heaven by family and friends who have gone before him while those he left behind will miss him deeply.
Rest in Peace Dad.
