Obituary of Robert Roy Rush

Robert R. Rush, Sr., 70, died on Monday, November 9, 2009 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ.
Bob (Skip) was born in Denville and grew up in Mt. Tabor before moving to Rockaway Twp. 39 years ago.
He started working for N. Davis Products in Rockaway, later buying and running the business until selling it in 1971. He then went to work as a salesman in the furniture department at J.C. Penney in the Rockaway Mall until retiring in May 2009.
He has been a member of the Denville Community United Methodist Church. As a youth he enjoyed playing semi-pro football. One of his greatest joys was being a band booster member and chaperone for the Morris Knolls Marching Band. In recent years, his greatest love was time spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, June (Zink), and his children and their spouses, Lynn and George Laurie of Dover, Robert Rush, Jr., of South Jersey, Kimberlee and William Karpack of Rockaway Twp., Stacy and Earl Lannon of Westfield, Mass.
He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Sean and Blair Laurie, Ryan and Zachary Karpack, Kirsten and Hannah Roberts, and Kyle, Shawn, and Bailey Lannon, as well as his brother James Warner Rush of Scarborough, NY, his sister Elaine Fisher of Melbourne, FL, and his stepmother Sally Rush of Milford, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Sat., Nov. 14, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com . Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
