Tia Emmy was the kindest, most gentle of souls. She was always so generous and the quintessential hostess. You always felt so at home when visiting at the Travers. She will always be special to the Texas clan because of her role in helping raise her younger brother Eliel, our father. She embodied what it means to be "family", and will be dearly missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the extended Travers family during this time. I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to meet Great Aunt Emmy and all of my grandfather's (Eliel) siblings. We are blessed to have such a large and loving family. Gustavo Edmundo and Maria would be proud.

The sweetness of this dear sister has always been in my thoughts. Emi was tenbder and had such a sweet disposition. My memories during our growing up years in New York have always been so memorable. Her three lovely girls have been my favorites for years and I cherish the visit I made with our son Elliot a few months ago visiting her and John and all the children and part of the extended family. What sweet memories God gives us all. She is now in the wonderful hands of our Lord and sharing her life with Idalia and Loyda.

Some of my foundest memories as a child is when I spent time at Titi Emmy & Uncle John's house. They're like my second set of parents. Although I don't remember when they moved in to our home when I was 18 months old and took care of Richie and me when my Mom was in the hospital with TB, I've always had a special bond with them. I do remember when they took me to my first drive in movie. We saw Mobie Dick and I thought the movie and the drive in was great!
Titi Emmy always seemed happy and very caring and I loved her smile. She would get so excited over the simpliest things. I love her dearly and will miss her very much. Her passing is a big loss to me and to many others. I know though that she did not leave alone. There is no doubt in my mind that my Mom and her brothers and sister along with her parents were there with her upon her passing. Thank you God for letting her go in peace.
And, thank you cousins for doing such a great job taking care of your Mom. She knew you were all there together and loved you all very much.
We will be attending her service and will see all of you then.
My love to Uncle John and the family. My heart goes out to all of you. I know how big of a loss this is for you!
May Titi Emmy now rest in peace!

Among my favorite recollections of "Ma," I will always remember her ready smile, hearty laugh, heart-felt greeting cards, and tasty Spanish Rice. I was truly blessed to have her as my mother-in-law... she was a genuine sweetheart.
