We have lived on Hastings Rd for about 20 yrs and enjoyed seeing Nich drive by and walking at the end of the street. We had many conversations with him about woodworking, grapes and other topics and enjoyed listening to his insights and stories. We will miss him.

We first met Nick & Mary amidst a family Thanksgiving celebration...and that's just the way they embraced us...as family. With Mary always at his side, Nick revealed the attributes of an elegant gentleman...quiet modesty, inner strength, honor, and an unobtrusive sense of dignity, propriety & sincerity. He was a man who lived in the Present, celebrating his family with a generosity of spirit & oft-unspoken pride, while also championing the causes of those less fortunate. Many of us viewed Nick as an exceptional mentor & teacher...not so much in the saying, but in the doing. And to his family, he could well have been called their Gentle Giant...the One who Loved Them Extravagantly.

Barb and I have known the Macri family for about 40 years. When we were first married Nick, Mary and the boys lived across the street. They were always there when we had questions or needed help (often). Nick and Mary were and should be very proud of the sons and how they have become outstanding people.
The world is less because of Nick's loss. I know however he is waiting in heaven to beat me in chess as always.

Dear Vincent and Family,
My deepest sympathies for the painful loss of your father. From our last conversation, I realized how worried you were about him, and dreaded the looming loss approaching rapidly. I'm sorry Vincent - I know you loved him very much.
Before and after my mother's passing, your compassion and kindness was so greatly appreciated and will always be remembered. Your legal assistance was invaluable; however, it was your genuine friendship and benevolent nature which really left it's mark.
You're a caring human being, a fine son, and a gentleman.
We'll say prayers for you and your family. You deserve them.
God Bless,
Jack and Carmella Robertello

Vince,
We will all miss your Dad very much. We enjoyed seeing him at the parties and family functions. It was always a joy to spend a few moments with him and talk a bit. What touched us most about your Dad was the unabashed pride that he had for you. We heard it when he spoke, we saw it in his eyes and most importantly it emanated from his heart. The pain of your loss will never go away, however the bond between Father and Son and the shared love and admiration will give you eternal strength.

I know that each Thanksgiving and Christmas party will never be the same without the presence of such a wonderful, kind, caring, and considerate man. I think he has touched each one of us and I know we will all keep those memories close to our hearts. The way I feel about it is that there are memories that pass you by, and there are memories that you keep close to your heart forever. I know that for me, it has been a privilege to know such a unique person. The memories I have of him do not seem to fade because I know that he has touched me in a very special way. He will always be loved and missed by us all! God Bless.
