Mr. Ford was born in Paterson and moved to Denville in 1958. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Paterson and received his Bachelor Degree at William Paterson State College. He went on to do graduate work at Columbia University in New York City and at Montclair State Teacher’s college he received a master’s degree in Education Administration. Mr. Ford started as a Third grade teacher at Mt. Tabor School and three years later he became the Principle of the Lake Hiawatha Elementary School. He became the Director of Special Services for the Districts Central Office and retired in 1977. After retiring he went to work as a salesman in Epstein’s Department store in Morristown in the Men’s Department. He was a member of the Morris County United Way for many years and a member of Peace Pipe Country Club in Denville. Mr. Ford served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. Mr. Ford is survived by his wife Mary M. MacDonald Ford, his three daughters, Mary Connolly and her husband Michael of Lebanon Twp., Kathi Gallichio and her husband Frank of Newton, and Eileen Kimmel and her husband Kevin of Harleysville, PA, his eight grandchildren, Stefanie, Dana, Zach, and Nate Connolly, Shane Gallichio, Joe, Stephen, and Paige Kimmel, and his sister, Clare Ripley of Paterson. Joseph’s funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Joseph on web site), on Friday April 17th at 9:00am for a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial service at St. Mary’s Church Denville, NJ. The committal and interments services at Denville Cemetery. Relatives and friends will be received at funeral home at on Thursday April 16th from 4 to 7 pm.
