Charlie (and Joan) were very welcoming to my husband and I when we first moved to Denville. We could not have asked for better neighbors. Charlie did so many "little" things for us and we have so many wonderful memories of Charile. Charlie always took the time to play catch with my boys and was very patient with them. He proudly attended the Veterns Day Celebration at my boy's school every year and taught the class what it was like to be in the Navy. He lent us his ladder so many times that he wound up just giving it to us. (thanks Charlie, we still use it!) Before Charlie's health challenges, he could mostly be found outside working on his lawn, taking a walk around Denville, playing a round of golf with the guys, or volunteering for St. Mary's Church. He always had a smile on his face and when you asked him how he was, his reply was often "never better". We will miss you very much Charlie but you will always be in our hearts. Our prayers to Joan and your Children.

Charlie was so generous in not complaining about Joan running away with us on our ski adventures. I wonder if he's telling St. Peter about the reflection from the stained-glass windows.

Many years ago (50+) I babysat for your family. We all went to St.Mary's in Denville. It's been a long time but I'll never forget how nice you were to me and I'll remember Mr. Holl in my prayers.
