JOHN A. CROSWELL
John A. Croswell, 82, died on Tuesday October 21, 2008 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, NJ.
He was born in Duluth, MN and lived in Mtn. Lakes, NJ from 1961 until moving to Denville in 1980.
John graduated from The University of Delaware with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
He worked for Hercules Powder Works in Kenvil, NJ and later taught at the Wilson School in Mtn. Lakes, NJ.
He served in the Air Service Group of the US Army during WWII.
John had been an active volunteer at St. Clare’s Hospital and was honored as the Lakeland Hills Family YMCA’s Volunteer of the Year in 1994.
He is survived by his life partner, Judith Higgs of Boonton Twp., NJ, his brother Volney Croswell, Jr. of Denville, and his children and their spouses Bill and Debbie Croswell of Tucson, AZ, Richard and Diane Croswell of Acton, MA, and Katie and Bill McKoy of Denville, NJ.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Kelly Croswell, Jay Croswell, Courtney Croswell, Andrew Croswell, Rebecca Croswell, and Christopher Bergen.
His family is celebrating his life with a private memorial. He will be buried in his family plot in Duluth, MN.
