Rose De Rose, 84, passed away at the Kindred Hospital at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Dover, NJ on Friday March 22, 2013.
Rose was born in Orange, and was a longtime resident at West Orange, in 2003 Rose moved to Fox Hills at Rockaway Township. Growing up on Mechanic Street in Orange, Rose was the ninth child of Anthony and Rosaria Simone. She loved to tell stories of her childhood with ten brothers and sisters. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to cook, sew and play cards. An original resident of the Adams Building at Fox Hills, she filled the halls with hearts and stomachs of her neighbors with her homemade Italian food dishes and desserts. Her greatest joys in life were her family, especially her three grandsons, Billy, Joey and Vincent and granddaughter, Ashley.
Rose was predeceased by her husband, Joseph De Rose in 1978 and her two grandchildren, William J. Streator and Ashley M. Streator in 2003.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Deborah Ann Streator and her husband William of Florham Park, and her son Joseph A. De Rose Sr. and his wife Wendy of Rockaway Twp., and her two grandsons, Joseph A. De Rose Jr. and Vincent J. De Rose of Rockaway Twp., and her brother Ace Simone of Pt. Pleasant, and her sister Marie Davisson of Rockaway Twp., and her sister-in-law Anastasia Simone of West Orange.
Rose’s funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please share a memory at website), on Wednesday March 27th at 8:30am for a 10am Mass of Christian Burial service at St. Cecilia’s Church, Rockaway, NJ, entombment committal at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum, East Hanover, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday March 26th from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
