Cathy Lee Iczkowski, died Monday April 21, 2008 at the age of 47. Born in Paterson, NJ, she grew up in Pompton Lakes, NJ and was a longtime resident of Rockaway Township. She graduated from Pompton Lakes High School with honors and was a member of the Cardinal Marching Band Squad and a 1979 NJ State Champion Saber Twirler. Cathy Lee earned an Associates degree in Nursing from Felician College and became a Registered Nurse 1981. She was a Pediatric Nurse that worked for two years at Oconee Hospital in SC and thirteen years at Chilton Memorial Hospital. She spent much of her free time helping Lupus patients cope with their illness and helped them lead a more fulfilling life. She was the founding President of the Passaic County Lupus Support Group and a Board of Director of the Lupus Association of NJ. Even though she battled Lupus and MS for most of her adult life, she always had a vivacious smile and a few words of encouragement for all of those she encountered. Her father Charles F. Braunlin predeceased her in 2007 and her service dog Zach in 2005. Her husband Ed Iczkowski, service dog Yodi, mother Joan Braunlin, mother in-law Frances Iczkowski and her husband Steve Iczkowski, Sr., sister Joanie Warner and her husband Mark Warner and their children Christin and Michael, brother in-law Steve Iczkowski, Jr., and his wife Lorrie Iczkowski and their children Matthew and Melissa, sister in-law Jeanne Spinosa and her husband Rich Spinosa and their children Brandon and Noelle, and her brother in-law Dan Iczkowski survive her. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday April 25, 2008 at 10:30am at the Pompton Reformed Church, 59 Hamburg Turnpike Pompton Lakes NJ 07442. Interment will follow at the Pompton Reformed Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday April 24, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville NJ 07834.
