Please share a memory of Anthony to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anthony D’Amico, of Rockaway Township, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 7, 2020. He shared 73 years of unconditional love, laughter, and priceless memories with his family and friends. Born in Newark to the late Mary Mazzone, he was raised in Belleville and graduated from Belleville High School. After graduation, he proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps in the Vietnam War. While in the Marines, he was tasked with the important job of loading the ammunition onto the aircrafts. Once Honorably Discharged, he cultivated his love for airplanes and attended the Teterboro School of Aeronautics. Anthony loved all aspects of airplanes, which continued throughout his entire life. He made a very successful 25-year career working as a Copier Repair Technician for Pitney Bowes in Cedar Grove; this is where he met the love of his life and best friend, Debbie Tirone. They were married in May of 1996 and settled in Rockaway Township to begin their life together. After retirement, he worked for Unique Imaging Corporation for 10 years. Anthony was a hard and dedicated worker who made sure to always provide for his family. Anthony had an unrivaled zest for life; he truly lived every day to the fullest, enjoying all this world had to offer. Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Anthony knew instantly how lucky they were to have crossed paths with this easy-going, carefree, caring, genuine, fun and considerate man. Always the life of the party, Anthony made the most of every second he was given. He was an avid golfer and a volunteer Firefighter at the Hibernia Fire Company for 20 years. Although we are deeply saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace and reunited with his Mom and brother, George. He leaves only joyful memories to his beloved wife of 23 years, Debbie; his adored daughter, Danielle Hamilton and her husband Chris; his loving son, Rich D’Amico; his treasured grandchildren, Ryan, Brody, and Dylan; his caring sister-in-law, Laura D’Amico; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Public Visitation will take place on Friday, January 10th from 5 – 8 pm with Service beginning at 7:30 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Memorial Donations are being accepted in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
