Mr. John A. Riccobono died on Sunday August 11, 2002 at the St. Clares Hospital in Denville, NJ. He was 89 years old.
Mr. Riccobono was born in Clifton, NJ and had lived in the Mt. Tabor section of Parsippany for 46 years. He was a graduate of the 1931 class of Clifton High School. He was the Senior Class President as well as the Captain of the football team. He attended Notre Dame University and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was an avid golfer and with his late wife Ruth an renowned and accomplished Ballroom dancer.
He was a fan of the New York Yankees baseball team. Being a fan of baseball, Mr. Riccobono was a founding officer of Parsippany Little League, founding officer of Babe Ruth League, founding officer of the Tomahawk Semi Pro Baseball Team. He was a Past president of the Parsippany Central School PTA. Mr. Riccobono was a member and a Usher at St. Marys Church Denville, NJ for over 40 years.
Mr. Riccobono was the husband of the late Ruth V. (Nee Stringer) Riccobono for 61 years of marriage. He is the father of James C and his wife Karen Riccobono of Chester, NJ and Linda J. and her husband Fred Teidt of Bridgeton, MO. He is the grandfather of Christopher, Marcus, Leigh, Linda, and Michael.
Family and Friends will gather on Friday August 16, 2002 at 9:00AM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ for a 10:0AM Liturgy of Christian Burial; Service at St. Marys Church Denville, NJ. followed by committal services at Restland Memorial Park East Hanover, NJ.
