Mary Elizabeth Roberts (nee OHara) of Belmar, NJ formerly of Mountain Lakes, NJ died on Monday June 3, 2002. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Anthony Roberts. Mother of Susan R. Ferris formerly of Caldwell currently of Middletown, NJ, Marybeth R. Schumann of Mountain Lakes, NJ, Janet M. Borner of Liestal Switzerland, Rita R. Donnelley of Middletown, NJ, Virginia R. Fabiano of North Caldwell, NJ, Madeline R. Morrow of Belmar, NJ, Joseph M. Roberts of Fairfax, VA., Also survived by 18 Grandchildren and one predeceased granddaughter Christine Marie Ferris. Sister of Mabel Heslin of Suffern, NY, Lillian Loughlin of Esopus, NY, Catherine Kemp of Basking Ridge, NJ, Theresa Caffrey of Staten Island, NY and the late Thomas, John, and Francis OHara. Aunt of 53 Nieces and nephews.
Funeral from Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ (973) 627-1880 on Friday at 8:45 AM for a 10:00 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Service at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Mountain Lakes, NJ. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery Hawthorne, NY. Friends will be received Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9PM. Memorial donations to New Jersey Right to Life 49 Alden St., Cranford, NJ 07016.
Mrs. Roberts died at The Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ after a short illness.
Mrs. Roberts was born in New York City, New York. She lived in Belmar, NJ since 2000 prior Mountain Lakes, NJ since 1974, and prior Staten Island, NY since 1950.
Employed at Manufacturers Hanover Trust NY, NY for 18 years and retiring in 1981 from the International Accounting Dept., Mrs. Roberts was 79 years old.
Mrs. Roberts was a member of the New Jersey Right to Life, Irish American Association of Northwest Jersey, Wharton, NJ, as a Trustee, and Women of Irish Heritage, northern New Jersey
