Lorraine D. (Zimmermann) Carey, 85, passed away peacefully on Sat. Aug. 11, 2012 at Merry Heart Health Center in Boonton Twp., NJ. She was born in Jersey City, and moved to Lake Parsippany as a child. After her marriage to Richard Carey they lived in Boonton and later in the Lake Intervale section of Parsippany. Lorraine began her career working for Bell Laboratories, retiring as a Manager of Directory Assistance for NJ Bell Telephone in Morristown in 1988. She was member of NJ Pioneers and The Red Hats, as well as TOPS of Boonton. She also volunteered at Craftsman Farms in Parsippany and was a parishioner at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Mt. Lakes. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Richard, in 2004 and her grandson Daniel Malavarca in 1988, as well as her brothers George Zimmerman and William Zimmermann. She is survived by her six children and their spouses Janice and Edward Malavarca of Boonton Twp., Patricia Carey of Boonton, Timothy and Cindy of Houston TX, Richard and Erin of Corinth NY, James and Angie of Baltimore MD and Christopher and Mary of Mays Landing NJ. In addition, Lorraine was the loving grandmother to Kevin and Michael Malavarca, Timothy, Erin, Brian, Meghan, George, Yianni, Christopher, Elizabeth and Catherine Carey.
