The first time I met Tom (Grandpa) I was around 7 or 8 and up to no good stealing eggs from the chicken coop when all of a sudden the sun went out behind me and there was the largest man that I've ever seen, bigger than life itself. With the soft voice he asked me if he could help, or something like that. I dropped the egg, soiled myself and ran home. Thank you Grandpa for never telling my mother. I feel blessed just to be called a part of this family. God bless you and thank you for everything Grandpa. Rest in peace and Love to the entire Will family. Love, Stephen Thompson

Uncle Tom and I did not spend much time together. Left coast-Right coast. But it was always my pleasure to talk to him on the phone. When Mary Alice and I were getting married, Uncle Tom flew all the way across the country to give her away, he made Mary and I very happy. I have alot of respect for his accomplishments in life, we should all touch so many people in our lives. He raised a fine family, people I am proud to know and call "Family". Thanks Uncle Tom for everything.

Dad,I am so blessed to have had you as a dad,teacher,confidant,inspiration,guide,partner,best buddy. You always had a way of cutting through the nonsense and coming up with solutions that just made sense. You were an outstnding husband to my mom. A soft spoken man that carried a REALLY big stick. I always said you would wear someone out just following you around, let alone all the work you did. Your love of family, the farm, animals and nature and firehouse will live in my heart forever. The biggest compliments of my life were when someone would say your just like your old man. You had wisdom, common sense,a sense of humor and understanding of many lifetimes. You were my soft place to fall and were always there to pick me up. Dad you were my best friend my right hand I Love you. Your moccasins have left tracks on many mounds of worth I pray you walk in peace with all chiefs. Words cannot express how much I miss you. I love you Dad. Jeff

My dearest grandfather was a wonderful man. and i think many will agree. he taught many well including myself. He was one of the strongest people i know. He never quit. He still lives on amongst us in our hearts. He will never be forgotten, at least i know i will never forget him, ever. RIP<3

I Love you Jeff and Aunt Marie My heart goes out to you and your family. I'm gonna miss "uncle tom" he was a tough man that you could tell he had alot of wisdom. and i will never forget that he tought a kid from southern california who never saw a cow...much less a farm....and how to run one!! and put me on my first horse "dino" when i was 12 years old and taught me to be a man and "not to be afraid of the animal...take charge!"....he was right! I Will never forget him!

Thomas was a great and kind man. he wlcomed us into his home the many times we visited and showed us plenty of love and hospitality! He was the best and we really miss him and love him alot.

And, I have to add: about Uncle Tom himself: A patient man who loved to teach and impart knowledge. He was always patient and hard working. I'll always remember him doing the simple things and the important things: like spending time together. And, I remember him always being concerned that people would be more caring about each other and live their lives more simply like people did years ago.

Great memories of being with Uncle Tom on the farm: The horses, cows, chickens and other animals. Sleigh rides and carriage rides. The hay loft. Pressing Apples for apple cider. Aunt Marie's hospitality. Christmas visits with the whole family - all the cousins. One time we were driving home and as we got around the community center, my dad says "What's that in the rear view mirror" It was a cat tail! He stopped the car and there was a cat on the roof wistfully swinging it's tail across our back window!

I have wonderful memories that go back about half a century or more.
So many to mention but here is a few.
My Uncle Tom was a gentle giant, who towered way over my head. Always greeted you with his arms out to give you a hug.
He made his home a haven for us in the summers. Aunt Marie was always cooking up some dandy dishes all made from the fruits and vegetables grown in their garden. We would help by going to pick the vegetables and gather eggs. I am so very grateful that I was part of that experience.
Uncle Tom always made time for the children hitching up the wagon for hay rides, hitching up the horses for sleigh rides, driving the old Ford and tractors around the farm, leaning about animals and how to take care of them. He was a patient, kind and loving teacher.
My children had an opportunity to spend some time on the farm too. He taught Gregory how to ride a horse. He taught Tom how to run the tractor and mow the hay. Tom mowed a little too much hay but it was a good learning experience for them both ;-)
He taught us many values and virtues. His love for his family expanded very far because there were many of us. He had a heart bigger than Texas and always made everyone around him feel welcome and very special.
He was a hard working man. A gentle man. A respected man.
There is a space in my heart that I will hold dear just for him and he will never be forgotten.

Growing up in Marcella, I always knew "Mr Will" as us kids knew him ... as Jeff's dad. A kind hearted softspoken, hard working ol farmer with a keen dry wit, a ready smile & a great sense of humor.
He was kind of like the local Will Rodgers ... never a bad word towards anybody. He is of a breed of folk that unfortunately are quickly disapeering here in America. He was a living example of "Americana" ... the way Americans used to be. He'll be missed dearly.

tom's wry sense of humor was the first thing about him that i came to know. he had a way of letting you know how you were doing without actually telling you,especially if you messed up. gonna miss you mr. will.

I have so many cherished and wonderful memories of my Uncle Tom. He is a child of God, and a Man of Nature. Animals never felt fear from him, they knew that he meant them no harm. I spent many summers on Aunt Marie & Uncle Tom's farm.
When a boyfriend once said to me that I should do something differently, I told him that he should do his best to emmulate Uncle Tom, if he wanted to know how a loving, kind Gentleman should act.
A friend to all who had the pleasure of his company. With his 56 years of service in the Marcella Firehouse Company #3, Badge #1, he touched so many lives with his gentle heart. I followed his lead and proudly served, as many of his family has, in Marcella Firehouse Company #3, and was honored by receiving badge #100. I have learned so many lessons from my Beloved Uncle Tom and he will be forever in my thoughts, for I carry him forever in my heart.

Uncle Tom was a wonderful man and a wise man, that gave me words and advise that I will always look back on. He will be missed by all but I am glad that he is in a better place now. We will be there now for Aunt Marie and the family.
