Betty Champion, 90, died on Friday Jan. 18, 2008, at Saint Clares Hospital, Denville, NJ. Mrs. Champion was born and raised on the Poulos Brothers farmhouse and was a life long resident in Denville. Betty was an inspector for Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, NJ for over 30 years retiring in 1975. Betty was a member of Union Hill Presbyterian Church since she was 12 years old and she was previously a Deacon and a member of the Womens Association. Betty enjoyed her home, yard and family by the delicious meals she prepared for them. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Eva Poulos. Her sisters Mary, Virginia Ginny, Ann, and her brothers, James, Thomas, and Christopher predeceased her. Her sons, Robert F. and his wife Patricia Champion of Succasunna and Thomas H. Champion of Bonita Springs, Fl, her seven grandchildren, Robert, Debra, Lee, Stacey, Kelly, Thomas, Lisa, and Annette and her nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews survive her. The funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of Betty on web site), on Tuesday Jan. 22nd at 9:30AM for a 11:00AM funeral service at Union Hill Presbyterian Church 427 Franklin Road, Denville, NJ. Interment services at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received on Monday Jan. 21st from 2-4 and 7-9PM. In lieu of flowers donations to the Union Hill Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.
