Obituary of Maureen Jane Allison

Maureen Jane Allison, 71, passed away on Friday at her daughters home in Robbinsville, New Jersey. She was 71 years old. Born in Newark and raised in Whippany, she lived in Denville for the past 42 years. Mrs. Allison played a vibrant role in the Denville community. She was active participant in the local business community, the Girl Scouts and the Denville recreation league. She also worked for a local medical group. A devoted wife and mother, she had great joy in spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader, crafter and was a local expert in antiques. She found special joy in watching her children and grandchildren play sports and dance. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her closest friends. Her husband of 51 years, Barrett Tony Allison died in 2004. She is survived by five children, Matthew and Julie Allison of Wayne, Mitchell Allison and his friend Katherine Valentino, Mary Jane Allison and friend Tom Lancaster, and Mindy Allison all of Denville and Melissa and Richard Young of Robbinsville, seven grandchildren, Christopher, Lauren, Cara and Isabella Allison of Wayne and Luke, Elizabeth, and Noah Young of Robbinsville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Tuesday, October 16 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Marys Roman Catholic Church in Denville. Relatives and friends will be received on Monday, Oct. 15 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ.
