Obituary of Woodrow W. Willis

Woodrow W. Willis, 85, died on Sunday August 19, 2007 at the Andover Nursing Home in Andover, NJ. He was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina and lived most of his life in the Hibernia section of Rockaway Twp., NJ. He had served in the US Army during WWII, after the war and throughout his career he worked in the construction field as a mason with local #592 AFL CIO n Edgewater, NJ. He was born one of six children to Sidney and Annie Willis. His brothers Ernie Willis and Jessie Willis as well as his sisters Fran Donaldson and Ella Hart all have died. He had been a member of the Hibernia Fire Department, as well as the Roc-Den American Legion Post #175bot in Rockaway. H had also been a member of the VFW post in Utica, NY. His wife Dorothy Wirth died in October 5, 1995, his sons Brian Willis died June 6, 1966, and his son William Meglen died previously, and his grandson Scott Sangster also did previously. He is survived by a daughter Karen Franklin of Herkimer, NY, his grandson Bruce Sangster of Florida, his sister Ethel Marcollesco of California. He is also survived by his nephews Aubrey Hart, and Jessie Willis, and his nieces Cheri Willis and Joann Hillabran All services are private.
