Evelyn Phelan LaPorta, 75, died on Monday June 25, 2007 at her daughters home in Hopatcong, NJ.
She was born in Hoboken and moved to Denville as a child and lived here until moving to Las Vegas 14 years ago.
Evelyns passion was taking care of people, her mother and family, later her husband, her children, as well as their children and her great grandchildren.
She had been a member of St. Marys RC Church in Denville where she had been active volunteer when her children were young.
Her daughter Margaret LaPorta died previously.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years Anthony Tony LaPorta. Her children Jo Ann and her husband Hubert Talmadge of Hopatcong, Anthony Tony LaPorta of Burbank, CA., Linda LaPorta of Las Vegas, Valerie LaPorta of Hopatcong, and Michael LaPorta of Tehachapi, CA.
She is also survived by her seventeen grandchildren, Krista Ann OConnor, Jacqueline Talmadge, Anthony Talmadge, Mark Talmadge, Nicholas Jordan, Theresa Jordan, Daniel Jordan, Diana Jordan, Colleen Jordan, W. Riley Jordan, Gina LaPorta, Eric Scott, Angela Scott, Amanda LaPorta, Jessica LaPorta, Michael LaPorta, and Christopher CJ LaPorta, and her four great grandchildren, Madisen McConnell, Kerri Ann OConnor, Kelli OConnor, and Madison Jordan.
Funeral from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ, www.normandean.com on Thursday June 28, 2007 at 9:00 AM for a 10:00 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Service at St. Marys Church in Denville, NJ.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
