Obituary of Charles Allan Blazure

Charles Allan Al Blazure Jr., 79 died on Monday June 18, 2007 at Saint Clares Hospital, Denville, NJ. Allan was born in Babies Hospital, Newark, NJ on November 11, 1927, son of the late Charles Allan Sr. and Mildred Mesler Blazure. He grew up in East Orange, NJ and became a resident of Mt. Tabor, NJ in March of 1940. Allan served during World War II in the Merchant Marines and was a United States Marine Corps Reservist from 1948 - 1952 and served in Korea. Allan became a member of the United Methodist Church of Mt. Tabor on June 14, 1942. He served on many committees, including 12 years as President of the Administrative Board. Allan was employed as a pressmen at Compton Press in Morristown from June of 1952 till his retirement in November of 1989. Allan was a member of Mt. Tabor Volunteer Fire Department since July 1946 serving thru the ranks up to Chief in 1972 and President at two different times. He also served as a Fire Commissioner for the District 1 Fire Department. He was a member of the New Jersey State Fire Chiefs Association, and an Exempt Firemen. He was a member of the Slattery Detachment Marine Corp League, the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Association and the American Legion Post #390, Denville, NJ. His brothers in law, Sidney L. Lynch, James Bud Moore, Floyd A. Becker and Lawrence J. Zeh predeceased Allan. Allan was married on April 22, 1950 and is survived by his beloved wife Ruth Lynch Blazure. His two daughters and their husbands Jacqueline and Jeffery Corcoran of Mt. Tabor, and Sharon and Raymond Kratt of Lake Parsippany, his four grandchildren, Ian and his wife Hope Corcoran, Paige Corcoran and her fiance Robert Ahrens, Amanda Kratt and Kyle Kratt, his great grandsons Lucas Allan Lori-Kratt and Shane Matthew Corcoran, his loving sisters in law, Annabelle Becker of Cherry Hill, Reda Moore of Denville, Betty Zeh of Port Orange, FL, and brother and sister in law Harold and Audrey Gilligan also of Port Orange, FL, and many nieces and nephews, and longtime best friends the Gerardi and Wescott families. The funeral will be conducted from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ www.normandean.com (Light a candle on the web site in memory of Allan), on Friday June 22nd at 9:45am for a 11:00am service at the United Methodist Church Simpson Avenue, Mt. Tabor, NJ. Friends will be received on Wednesday June 20th from 7-9pm and Thursday June 21st from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the United Methodist Church of Mt. Tabor would be appreciated.
