Obituary of James J. Lynch

James Lynch was born February 7, 1913 receiving his early education at the Francis Parker School in Chicago.
He graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. in Economics and later became a C.P.A.
His first employment was with Arthur Anderson as an auditor, he then worked as an auditor for the Chicago Tribune until drafted into the US Army.
He fought German soldiers in France and Germany as a rifleman receiving a Bronze Star.
After WWII he returned to the Tribune until transferring in 1953 to the New York Daily News. There he eventually became Treasurer. At this time he lived in Chappaqua NY and served on the Board of Education for six years.
He then returned to Chicago to become a Vice President of the Tribune Company.
His wife of 53yrs Alene predeceased him in 1991. He is survived by one of his three sons, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
