James P."Jim" Egan 61, Jim passed on Monday June 11, 2007 in Atlantic City, NJ.
Jim was born in Paterson, NJ and was a long time resident of Denville, NJ. He was a graduate of Hawthorne High School where he participated on the varsity Basketball team. Jim served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Jim was employed at Macys Department Store for 24 years through out the New Jersey and New York area in Security and Operations Department. He worked also for Adler a nation wide carpet cleaning service and then became the owner and operator of Eagles Mere Services, Denville, NJ for 6 years. Jim was an avid Golfer, and helped develop the Crystal Springs Golf Course, which he was most proud of. Jim, for 25 years was on the Board of Directors and Secretary for the New Jersey State Organization of Cystic Fibrosis, and was the chairman of the annual golf outing. Jim was a founding member of the CSMGA, Crystal Springs Mens Golf Association. He also was on the Board of Directors for the Jack Kurlander Foundation a charitable foundation. Jim coached basketball and baseball with his sons and daughter in the Denville Recreation Department.
Jims brother Joseph M. Egan predeceased him in 1996.
On July 26, 1970 Jim married his beloved wife Rosemarie Reilly.
Rosemarie and his children, Martin and his wife Julia of Springfield, John and his wife Colette of Wanaque, Theresa and her husband Mohamed Seif of Parsippany, and James P. Jr. of Secaucus, a sister Sheila and her husband Joseph Schuh of Wyckoff, uncle of many nieces and nephews and numerous golf buddies and many friends survive him.
The funeral will be conducted from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ www.normandean.com on Saturday June 16th at 8:45am for a 10:00am Liturgy of Christian Burial service at St. Marys Church. Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday June 14th from 7-9pm and Friday June 15th form 2-4 and 7-9pm.
