Peggy's Family,
Mom told me about Peggy's passing in a tearful voice this morning. She mentioned how caring her aide was in recently contacting her. As I remember it, Peggy was a second mom (with that wonderful Boston accent)to Margaret and me during those early years when we prowled Fulton and Sterling Avenues. I am so glad that our folks had their close relationship and remember them as having lots of laughs and helping each other out. Our family stories would be severly altered if we couldn't include references to "Peggy and Mel," or "the Millers." My mom always talks about the time she and Peggy were upset with me and Kevin for walking too slowly through Grand Central Station at 2 years old, how Mel had to do an emergency run to get Kevin new shoe laces for the Howdy Doody Show, how Dennis drew the doggy doo in his school picture of our back yard, how we had stock car races in the basement. We could go on! My mom is broken up that she has no transportation to attend the funeral and I am too far away to do anything about it, but I hope you know that we will be there in spirit. I miss seeing my first little brothers and hope that you are all well and having a good life. Holly, my mom always shows me your cards and photos of your family too. You all had a gift in having Peggy for a mom and I know your own memories will last through your lives.
Love, Nancy
