Obituary of William G. Spies

William G. Spies passed away on May 7, 2007 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center.
He was 87 years old.
Born in Newark, he had lived in Denville for 30 years before moving to Hackettstown 2 years ago.
William had graduated from the Academy of Arts in Newark, NJ
He serves in the Army during WWII, and saw action in North Africa, Sicily and Italy.
William then joined the US Air Force where he made his career of 20+ years retiring as Master Seargent in 1975.
He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and painting.
His brothers Jack and Harry predecease him.
His wife of 50 years, Sumie (Tanaka) of Hackettstown survives him.
His children Marie Frank of Germantown, MD, and William J. (& Esther) Spies of Flanders, NJ, His Granddaughter Rachel Spies, and his sister Dorothea Spies of Toms River, NJ also survive him.
Funeral services will be held at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ www.normandean.com on Thursday May 10, at 10:30AM. Friends may visit on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
