Mary E. Sokol, 77, died on Thursday May 3, 2007 at Saint Clares Hospital, Denville, NJ.
Mrs. Sokol was born and lived in Queens, LI, NY for many years before moving to Rockaway Township, NJ in 1958. Mary was a graduate of Notre Dame College in Staten Island, NY in 1952 receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree. Mary was employed as a Social Service Worker for the State of New Jersey from 1972 until her retirement in 2000. Mary was a member of St. Clement Pope & Martyr Church.
Her son Wes Sokol and her brother Edward Gill predeceased Mrs. Sokol. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Terry Sokol and Robert Townsend of Kinnelon, NJ, her granddaughter Rebecca Townsend, her daughter in law, Jackie Sokol of Morris Plains, NJ, two grandsons Tom and Tim Sokol, and her brother, Richard Gill of Pismo Beach California.
Funeral from the Norman Dean Home fro Services 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, on Tuesday May 8th at 8:30am for a 9:30am Liturgy of Christian service at St. Clement Pope and Martyr Church, Rockaway Township, NJ. Committal and interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday May 7th form 2-4 and 7-9pm.
