Obituary of Ralph J. DeSantis

Ralph De Santis, 82, died at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clares Hospital, Dover, NJ, on Saturday, April 14, 2007. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who fought a courageous battle against cancer.
Mr. De Santis was born in Dover, NJ, graduating from Dover High School in 1942. He attended Ryder University. He served in World War II in the US Army. Upon his discharge from the Army, he worked in the Dover Post Office and later owned Wash n Shop Coin Laundry in Denville and Parsippany, NJ, until 1979. He later worked at Prudential Insurance Company in Whippany, NJ, and then at the Norman Dean Home For Services in Denville, NJ, until age 80.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Flora Lizzi De Santis of Boonton, NJ; his sister, Josephine and her husband Dr. Lewis Pagano of New Brunswick, NJ; two daughters, Dianne Rogers of Erie, PA, and Marianne Mc Donald of York, PA; their spouses, Dr. Daniel Rogers and James Mc Donald; and four grandchildren, Patrick Rogers, Laura Rogers, Lance Corporal Kevin McDonald of the US Marine Corps, currently serving in Iraq, and Katherine Mc Donald.
The funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ, www.normandean.com (light a candle in Ralphs memory) on Friday April 20th at 8:30am for a 9:30am Liturgy of Christian Burial service at St. Catherine of Siena Church Mountain Lakes, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday April 19th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Interment will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Susan E. Lusty Glioblastoma Foundation, P.O. Box 225, Great Meadows, NJ 07838.
