Stephen Chovanec, 90, passed away on Saturday Jan. 6, 2007 at the Saint Clares Hospital, Denville, NJ.
Mr. Chovanec was born in New York City, NY and was a resident of Rockaway Township for over 50 years. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He was the Superintendent at the Picatinny Arsenal for 41 years.
His wife Margaret, his two daughters Karen Fuertges of Denville, Stephanie Kurtz of Rockaway Twp., his four sons Joseph, Michael, Richard, and Stephen all of Rockaway Twp. and nine grandchildren survive him.
The funeral will be conducted from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ www.normandean.com on Wednesday Jan. 10th at 8:30am for a 9:30am Liturgy of Christian Burial service at St. Marys Church, Denville, NJ Interment services at Marcella Cemetery, Rockaway Township, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday Jan. 9th 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimers Assocation 400 Morris Avenue, Denville, NJ 07834 would be appreciated.
