Georgiana Peg Ackerman, 84, died on Wednesday Jan. 3, 2007 at St. Clares Hospital in Denville.
Peg was born in New York City and moved to Denville 70 years ago settling in the Indian Lake section.
She graduated from Trenton State Teachers College with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education in 1945. She later went to William Paterson College and received a Masters in Education.
Peg was an Elementary School Teacher with the Rockaway Township Board of Education from 1962 until her retirement in 1991. She had belonged to the New Jersey Education Assoc. as well as the Morris County Retired Teachers Assoc. and the Dover College Club.
Her husband William R. Ackerman died in 1989 and her son W. Robert Ackerman died in 1988.
She is survived by her daughter Sherri and her husband Robert Byrnes, her son John Ackerman, as well as her sister in-law Ruth Davis all of Denville. She also has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday Jan./ 8, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ www.normandean.com. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM
