Obituary of Arthur C. Becker

Arthur Charles Becker died at home Monday, October 30, with his family at his side. Born in the Bronx, NY, he was raised in Ridgefield, NJ, graduating from Englewood High School where he excelled in sports. After college and marriage he moved to Indian Lake in Denville in 1961. He taught industrial arts at Hackettstown High School, retiring in 1991. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, boating, traveling, gardening at the Denville Community Garden, woodworking and raising his goldfish. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran church and the Indian Lake Community Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Oralee; four daughters, Wendy and her husband Doug, of Brooklyn; Leah and her husband Barry, of Denville; Heidi and her husband Allan, of Denville; and Jodi and her husband Paul, of Bristol, England, as well as 6 grandchildren, Amanda, Alex, Max, Adam, Oliver, and Lara. Also, he is survived by his brother, Richard, and his wife, Carol and two nephews, Mark and Doug. A service of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Knoll Dr, Denville, NJ on Wednesday November 1, 2006, at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 10 Knoll Dr., Rockaway, NJ 07866 would be appreciated.
