Rita A. Lyons (Merrick) passed away at Franciscan Oaks Health Care Center in Denville, NJ on Oct. 7, 2006. She was 82 years old.
Born in NY, NY she had spent most of her life in Crestwood, NY before moving to the Leisure Village East section of Lakewood, NJ, and finally to Denville.
Rita was a graduate of The American Institute of Banking.
She had worked as a payroll & Tax Administrator at Drew University, and Crum and Foster and then became the Personnel Manager at Scarsdale National Bank before retiring in 1982.
Rita had served on the Financial Committee at Franciscan Oaks in Denville, NJ, she was a Girl Scout Leader in Crestwood, NY, Served on the Parent Association of Maria Regina High School, and was a member of the Annunciation Church, and the Crestwood, NY Womens Guild.
Rita is pre deceased by her sister Marion Nash.
Her children, Patricia Rossmann of Florham Park, NJ, Denise Lyons Taylor of Scarsdale, NY, and John J. Lyons Jr. of Hinsdale, IL survive her. Her 8 grandchildren, Brother John Merrick of Malibu, CA and her former husband John J. Lyons Sr. of Medina, NY also survive her.
A mass will be held at the chapel in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY on October 14, 2006. Funeral arrangements from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave www.normandean.com.
