Mildred Valva Devoted and Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother Mildred Valva (nee Zito) passed away on Thursday Oct 5, 2006 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover, NJ. She was 94. Born in Laurenzana, Italy Mildred and family relocated to the United States in 1915 and resided in Long Island for over sixty years until moving to St. Francis in Denville in 2004. Mildred was active in the Senior Citizens in Denville, and was past president of the Homemakers of America Nassau County Chapter. Mildred also volunteered her time with the Cerebral Palsy Association and the Legion of Mary and when her children were younger she was active in the P.T.A. Mildred was predeceased by her husband of 69 years John Valva in 2004. Surviving Mildred are her loving children Virginia and her husband Gene Foley of Lincoln Park, John and his wife Jane Valva of Dallas, Tx., George and his wife Pat Valva of Denville. Also surviving Mildred is her sister Grace Pellettieri. Mildred was a beloved Grandmother of nine, Great-Grandmother of fifteen. She loved all people, and was loved by all who knew her. A liturgy of Christian Burial service will be held on Tuesday Oct. 10that 10:00am at St. Francis Chapel in Denville, Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, NY. Family and Friends may visit on Monday Oct. 9th from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ, for more information visit www.normandean.com.
