Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, New Jersey 07834 (973) 627-1880 Willard St. Marie Jr. died on Sunday August 5, 2012, at Franciscan Oaks Health Center in Denville, NJ. He was born in Ashland, WI and grew up in Duluth, MN. He moved to Washington D.C. when he joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a clerk, at the age of 22. He attended Georgetown University and graduated from NYU with a degree in accounting. He married Ellen Marie Papin in 1946. They first resided in New York City, later moving to Florham Park, NJ in 1949, and finally to Denville, NJ in 1996. He served in the US Marine Corps during WW II. After the war he returned to the FBI, working first in New York City, then Newark, NJ and finally in Morristown, NJ. He retired from the FBI in 1968, having served 26 years as a Special Agent. He then started a second career in the banking industry, working first as an officer at the Iron Bank in Morristown, and later as a Senior Vice President of Chase Manhattan Bank in New York. He was a member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, a member of Spring Brook Country Club in Morristown, a long time parishioner of Holy Family R. C. Church in Florham Park, and he served on the Florham Park Planning Board. He was a passionate cook, a skilled amateur carpenter, and an avid and able golfer, with a seven handicap well into his seventies. He is survived by his children Marianne St. Marie of Morris Plains, NJ; Scott St. Marie and his wife Theresa Lang of Brooklyn, NY; Andrea St. Marie Biagi and her husband Bob Biagi of Centreville, VA; his daughter in-law Christine St. Marie of Huntington Beach, CA, and; his sister Marion Precord of Two Harbors, MN. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tessa St. Marie of Huntington Beach, CA, Hanna Lang St. Marie of Oakland, CA and Will Biagi of Centreville, VA, His wife Ellen Marie Papin died earlier this year, and his son Peter St. Marie died in 2009. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial service will be held on Saturday Aug. 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's RC Church in Denville, NJ.
