Obituary of Adelaide G. Castellini
Please share a memory of Adelaide to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Adelaide G. Castellini, also known by her professional and stage name as Adele Castle, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014, at the age of 88 at the Franciscan Oak Health Center. She was born and raised in Hoboken, NJ.
Adelaide's operatic singing voice led her to a professional career in a Broadway play, Me & Juliet, which led to her joining a singing group known as the MelloLarks, which toured the United States and Europe. She also had many engagements in Las Vegas. It is the latter that started Adelaide's second career as a Sales Manager at the Hilton Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, which opened up the door to her being employed by Steve Wynn, as Vice President & General Manager at The Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino. She was the first woman to rise to that level of management in Las Vegas. The Hoboken Heritage and her career activities led to Adelaide having close friendships with many celebrities such as Frank Sinatra, Buddy Hackett, and Dick VanDyke, to name a few. She was an amazing talented woman that will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Adelaide is predeceased by her parents, Armando and Mary Castellini, and her step-brothers, Frank and Michael Gigliotti. She is survived by her sister Iole Cors and her husband William, her brother Armando M. Castellini, and many loving nieces and nephews.
