Obituary of Mary Melillo

Mary (DiGregorio) Melillo, entered into eternal rest on October 13, 2014 in the loving comfort of friends and family. She was 98. She was born March 7, 1916 in Belleville, NJ and lived in Nutley 68 years until she moved to Franciscan Oaks, Denville in 2009.
She attended Drake Business College and was an Administrative Assistant at Rutgers Law School in Newark. She was a long-time officer in the Mt. Carmel Sodality at Holy Family Church in Nutley. Mary was a talented seamstress and knitter and enjoyed bingo, rosary, and mahjong with her friends at Franciscan Oaks.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Emil Melillo. Surviving are her devoted children, Philip Melillo of Toms River, David Melillo and his wife Ann of Scotch Plains, and Mary Ellen (Coiro) Taylor and her husband Jim of Denville and Long Valley. Also surviving are her grandchildren Christine, Laura, Gregory, Matthew, and Daniel and her great-grandchildren Felicia, Vincent, Gino, and Gia.
Viewing and burial are private. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass in her honor on Saturday, October 25, at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Church, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice or do something nice for someone in Mary's memory.
