Obituary of Chester Joseph Zazenski

Chester J. Zazenski passed away at Morristown Medical Center on October 13, 2014.
He was 87 years old.
Born in Newark he lived in Bloomfield for 43 years before moving to Rockaway, NJ 16 years ago.
After graduating from vocational high school, Chester served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Seaman 1st Class & participated in the liberation of the Philippine Islands.
Chester was self-employed for 11 years owning & operating a luncheonette & sweet shop in Bloomfield, NJ. From 1968 – 1975 he worked as a machinist for Englehard Industries in Carteret, NJ and then he retired from Zims Manufacturing in Irvington, NJ. He loved making jigsaw puzzles, gardening, playing cards and being part of the Fox Hills men's club.
Chester is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Helen (Wojcik) Zazenski of Rockaway, NJ.
He is also survived by his four daughters Marianne Dickman and her husband Gene of Abingdon, MD, Kathleen Nassaney and her husband Al of Rockaway, NJ, Michalene Donegan and her husband Gerry of Atlanta, GA and Margaret Bedell and her husband Peter of Denville, NJ. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Kelsey & Ryan Dickman, Melissa & Christina Nassaney, and Meghan Bedell as well as his sister Ruth Fromosky of Spring Hill, FL and many loving nieces & nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Mary Bialouis and John Zazenski and his four brothers Steve, Ed, John and Henry (his twin), and his sister Jean Kozlowski.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 on Thursday October 16, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9pm.
Funeral services will begin at 10am on Friday October 17, 2014, at Norman Dean Funeral Home and then follow in procession to St. Cecilia's Church in Rockaway, NJ for an 11AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
