Bill Pavlos, 64, died at his home in the Indian Lake section of Denville, NJ.
He was born and grew up in Dover, NJ. When he married his wife Joyce they lived in Randolph and 1992 they moved to their home in Denville.
Bill had served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War where he had picked up a love for military history. He has been a member of Denville American Legion Post #390 where he had served as Post Commander and he had also enjoyed cooking more many of their events. He had also cooked for events at St. Mary’s Church and for Joey Bella Foundation.
He had worked as a commercial driver and had been working for Denville Line Painting Company in Denville.
His son David joined Boy Scout Troop 118 in Denville and Bill quickly joined in and had served as an Assistant Boy Scout Leader. He was very proud when David earned his Eagle Scout Award, and he proudly wore his Father of an Eagle Pin. Bill had also served as a liaison for Boy Scout Troop 390 in Denville.
He is predeceased by his Parents Demetrios and Frances Dovas Pavlos.
He is survived by his wife Joyce E. Bezold with whom he celebrated twenty five years of marriage this past June, his son David of Denville, as well as his four sisters and their husbands, Tina and Tom Castorina of Jefferson, Yotta and Paul Vlastakis of Staten Island, NY, Maryann and Lee Moreau of Landing and Stacey and Michael Williams of Hopatcong.
He leaves behind his loving nieces and nephews Stephanie (Castorina) Voyles, Stacey Castorina, Leon Moreau IV, Lauren Moreau, Sean Williams and Stacey Williams who adored him.
Funeral from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ www.normandean.com on Monday October 6, 2014 at 9:00 AM for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial Service at St. Mary’s Church in Denville, NJ.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
