Robert K. Shaw, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25th. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 4th at 10:30AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 10 N. Pocono Rd., Mountain Lakes. Military honors will be present. Bob was born in Pennsylvania in 1929 to the late Henry and Loretta. He attended The Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades. Upon graduation he proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged, he met and married Anita (nee DiMascio) and settled in New Jersey. Initially, Bob worked in the field of industrial pollution control. In 1973 he founded Shaw Built Homes and became a leader in the home building industry. He served as president of the Builders Association of Summerset and Morris in 1985. In 1990 Bob was inducted into the New Jersey Builders Hall of Fame. In 2000 he was honored as a distinguished alumnus of the Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades. From his father, Bob inherited a life long love of fishing, hunting, boating and the outdoors. He shared this, along with his enthusiasm for flying, antique cars and photography, with his family. In 1967 the family settled in Mountain Lakes, where Bob liked to say that they were on vacation 365 days a year. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Anita; children Pamela Burzynski (John), Robert Jr., and Stephen (Cynthia); his grandchildren Scott Burzynski, Megan Kern (Joshua), Matthew and Catherine Shaw; and his loyal canine companion, Brady.
