Mary Elizabeth Del Sontro, 78, of Dover, NJ, passed away peacefully under the loving care of her family and attentive nurses on August 24, 2014.
Born in Jermyn, PA she had lived in Newark, Parsippany, Rockaway, and finally in Dover, NJ.
Her obituary in death will read as her dozens of shirts read during life – with the names of every single one of her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, as she would have wanted it.
"Betty" Del Sontro was the daughter Ernest & Pearl Langman.
She was predeceased by her sister Evelyn Stager.
She is survived by her children Nick of Andover, Dan Del Sontro of Union, and Lorraine Brattoli of Rockaway, NJ, 15 Grandchildren; Alessio, Austin, Bianca, Danielle, David, Francesca, Joey, Justin, Kristopher, Michael, Nicky, Stacey, Tanya, Tara, & Tonya, 3 Great Grandchildren: Kaleb, Norah & Violet, and her siblings Ernestine Dick of Blairstown, Marge Murray of Columbia, NJ.
Betty is also survived by her many loyal and deeply cherished friends from Pleasant View Village, the First Baptist Church, among others.
Betty was a dedicated working single mother of three in her early years, and happily retired to be a full-time grandma.
Visitation will be held on Thursday August 28, 2014 from 5-8PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com. Interment services will be private. A memorial service will be held on Friday Aug. 29, at 11AM at the First Baptist Bible Church 126 Mt. Pleasant Ave Rockaway, NJ 07866. 973-361-8870.
In lieu of flowers Betty Del Sontro had asked that donations be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, so that others may be blessed with healthy children & grandchildren, which was her greatest joy.
